What will I be doing?

As BDM, you are responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a pricing strategy that maximises revenue per available room (RevPAR). The BDM must be able to review and analyse hotel data and quickly make recommendations to increase revenue opportunities. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Control/Support understanding of the demand calendar, and support the team on group pricing decisions  
  • Become a lead catcher and highlight the key opportunity as they arise
  • Create and analyse reports to support the business, i.e GCE pace, Business on the books, BOB week by week etc
  • Prepare and contribute to the Business Focus & Commercial Focus Meetings  
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments' adherence to achieving that strategy
  • Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market
  • Leadership – lead and coach, ensure all team members within allocated direct report have regular one to one’s, PDR, PDP  
  • Build strong relationships with customers, full understanding of their needs and work with them to maximise opportunities effectively
  • Assist in coaching, training and developing the BD Team when needed
  • Support in preparing month end presentations/owner presentation
  • Working closely and driving all Group related segments when relevant at the right price point.
  • During 2020/2021 the hotel will continue to develop a repositioning strategy for the the hotel to become the Leading Conference Hotel in Europe. The BDM will be a key stakeholder in driving this forward. Allocation of the right business, at the right time, at the right rate will be key to the repositioning success.
  • Additionally there will be responsibilities related to the above that will encompass project work, analysing the total hotels trends and future needs
  • Assist in developing a high-performing Commercial team

  • Manage, train and develop the relevant team members within the Commercial team, through excellent leadership and by example. .

  • Manage staff performance in compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Maintain and grow relationships with Key Stakeholder (Client and Internal Hilton Client), to maximise revenue.

  • Ability to travel when needed and drive business Internationally and Domestically to raise awareness/convert business

  • Identify focus areas in the year/segments and, devise & implement Strategies to support them.
